The Mission

About The Secularist Podcast

The Secularist is an independent media initiative dedicated to promoting evidence-based dialogue on secular values, freedom of thought, and the protection of minority rights in increasingly polarised societies. We seek to create space for rigorous discussion at the intersection of belief, power, identity, and public life, bringing together academic insight, lived experience, and critical journalism.

The Secularist Podcast: Secular Stories forms part of this initiative. Through the podcast, we invite writers, researchers, practitioners, and public thinkers to speak with us about their experiences, ideas, and work. We encourage conversations rooted in personal and national contexts, including discussions around books, research, or lived experiences that illuminate how secularism is negotiated in everyday life.

Through these conversations, we engage in critical dialogue on the state of secularism, with a focus on lived realities across the globe. The podcast explores how secular values intersect with questions of power, belief, freedom, and human rights in contemporary societies.
